Jarris “JC” Coney: Northside High School Football – Veteran ATH named NUC All-American Game MVP !!!

JC Coney, a senior at Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia has recently been celebrated for his football excellence. The ATH recently participated in his second NUC All-American Game in Savannah, Georgia earning himself an MVP award.

The 5-10” 215 pounder displayed his natural athleticism throughout the game.  A class of 2024 prospect, Jarris or JC made his presence known in a multitude of ways.  He is the ultimate football player both on and off the field.

Jarris played for the Northside High School football team in Georgia this season.  He lined up mainly as an inside Linebacker accounting for 94 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, 10 TFL’s, 7 sacks and 9 hurries!   Offensively as a Running Back he had 63 carries for 450 yards and 8 total Touchdowns.  JC earned himself a spot on the 6A first team!

Character is best displayed through action and Coney gave every coach, parent, spectator and fan something to watch. When asked what he enjoyed most about playing in the All-American Game, he stated that “ the team bonding, from coaches to players, in the 2 years I’ve participated in this game it’s been one of the best football experiences I’ve ever had.  I learned a lot from the coaches, not just about football , but about becoming a young man on and off the field!”

JC was asked if taking part in this game helped him become a better player when he went back for his next high school season, his response was “ I learned to be more patient as a Linebacker, to trust my reads and react faster.”

He dropped a bit of senior knowledge on the younger guys before he left.  The question was what advice would you give younger players that might be on the fringe about coming to the game? His response “Never give up and always believe in yourself, but most importantly get good grades and always keep GOD first, Student first, Athlete second.”  His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future. He currently has numerous campus invites to multiple schools to play at the next level.  This NUC MVP is going to help any school both on and off the field.
