Thomas Mierzwiak: St. James Middle School : U14 QB named MVP at Boardwalk Beasts WorkOut !!!

Thomas Mierzwiak, an 8th grader at St. James Middle School in Red Bank, New Jersey recently partook in an early off-season showcase presented by NUC Sports/Boardwalk Beasts 7v7 Football club in which he took home MVP honors.

Mierzwiak, a 2028 Prospect, showed why he is considered one of the area’s best QBs.  He had an outstanding day and stood out above others.  The 8th grader immediately showed off his athleticism during the agility station portion of the day.  He displayed a great ability to change direction and had a great burst in and out of breaks.  Participants went through a variety of drills to display their overall agility ability as well as speed.  He displayed quickness and solid lateral movement at each and every station.

Thomas made an impact with solid footwork and overall excellent technique is position specific drills.   He displayed the ability to take snaps both from under center and shotgun.  The lefty QB hit on short, medium, and deep routes.  He showed the ability to read a defense and work through a progression in order to find the open target.

In terms of physical ability, the 5-10 135 pound QB has the room to grow.  He showed great Football IQ and leadership by communicating with what he saw and why he threw what he threw.  He put guys in the right position and displayed great knowledge, helping other participants throughout the day.

Mierzwiak will join the U-14 team and make an immediate impact.  He has a ton of potential and the ability to grow both mentally and physically. His ceiling is very high and will continue to develop with every practice and rep taken this spring.
