The football story of Walter Payton Walter Payton sometimes known as Sweetness was a professional American Football player who played for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League NFL for 13 Seasons Payton was Born in 1954 in Mississippi and grew up In a small town called Columbia he was The son of a Timber mill worker despite His small town upbringing and limited Resources Hayden was a talented athlete From a very young age In high school Hayden was a three sports Star in football baseball and track After a remarkable High School football Career Peyton was offered scholarships From multiple schools but he chose to Stay close to home and play football at Jackson State University where he became A star running back Payton was drafted fourth overall in the 1975 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears During his 13 Seasons with the Bears Peyton became a star running back and Set numerous NFL records including a Single-season rushing yards record Walter Payton was an NFL sensation known As sweetness for his signature moves on The field and off the field An All-American running back for Jackson State University gaining more than 1 000 Yards in his senior year In 1975 he was the fourth overall pick In the NFL draft and went on to have a
