Today welcome back we go today over Coverages and rotating coverages in and Really cover that make sure we get get All that covered I hope everybody is Doing well let's jump right into it so Just to kind of explain robber coverage Robber coverage Traditionally utilizes you there's a Free safety or strong safety to Essentially rob one of the offensive Receivers areas so a lot of times used In zone either to take away dig take Away the curl area could even robbed the Flat so utilizing those safeties do it So you can you get in the base coverage And right here you can see we have a Look of cover two too high or cover four To two high safeties right we talked About this with cover to each guide have To field right okay I think I'd have to Field in cover two corners have the the Flat to the sink area the Sam linebacker Would essentially have the hook the curl Area you'd be in this drop and being Here okay they've had this box area they Had this box area so just kind of Quickly and then depending on how you Play your Mike they've got the crossers To if you're playing Tampa to they could Be all the way tape robbing the post so And and that could be an example of a Kind of robber coverage but really Doctors are used with linebackers so so Now if we want to rob a certain area we

Could take this free safety and we could Have him rob the curl the flat area okay And essentially what eventually have is A roll to a cover three kind of look and We've got a robber situate Where this guy's now robbing the curl The flat area this will is no longer Dropping in the area that he was Dropping before this will linebacker now Is pushing opposite in the corner I mean The safety would now have to push all The way out of safety I'm sorry the Sam Linebacker would have to push all the Way out to that curl the flat area so Essentially robbing to try and take away In the area so a lot of times this can Be done and here if we're going to bound Your into it into the boundary if we Think someone's gonna throw or or to the Field if we think we have space where They like to throw it into a window We're trying to rob essentially windows Okay allowing us to take away something Like a slant it maybe get a steal or or Get in a situation where we could you Know dislodge the offensive player from The ball and creating a different look For the quarterback so quarterbacks like To have stable and easy reads to High-type easy read okay they understand For the most part to be cover to or Cover for you rob that uh you can rob The coverage of the Kurla flat area with Either the strong safety or the free

Safety and now you're creating a look That they don't expect to see so that's One way you can do robber coverages okay You can do robber coverages in a lot of Different ways here's the second way That you can do it you can rob the dig And then come over the top and go take Care of the post area so when you get to High one of the things that offenses Like to do is they like to run something Like this okay I made a little mess here Something like this So essentially robbing okay the dig area Gives the defensive player the Opportunity to steal a football make a Play in the ball and also allows this Robbing coverage here allows you to Really be attacking on defense okay Especially if it's in to the boundary And then you can go in and do some Different games different dog blitzes Different types of blitzes that can go And put you in a position to get some Pressure on the defense so this is a Great way I love this right here Exchanging going from cover to to a Cover three look robbing the dig area This dig area especially with teams that Like to run digs and posts and you Essentially take away the things that They're looking for from that standpoint Okay so that's the second one that is Robber coverage the next thing is Rotational coverage so this a lot of

Times I like to use this way I drew it Up here with field area a lot of times You can really rotate okay cover three For example to the field this gives you An inverted coverage okay this gives you Cover three and allows a different look For the quarterback to have to see so You can play press corner here and play This the same exact responsibilities That you would have for for cover to With your corner rotate and cover three Coverage allowing allowing an attack Kind of mode from your Mike side Especially into the boundary Okay and you're pushing in to actually Let me draw this up a little bit better Here okay taking away to curl the flat Area and now you could essentially your Your your will can take that middle area Because there's not a huge threat and he Essentially is gonna cover a larger area And we would call this you know some Version of rotate cover three you know Will wheel three or something like that Or whatever color we use for that Coverage and we rotate and that's how We'd call it and now essentially we have Our responsibilities we can get a fifth Person in the attack it in four three Here so we can get another person in the Attack on the Blitz and you know we're Really can put pressure and make a Quarterback make a bad decision Okay so that's a great example there of

Rotating coverages to give yourself an Advantage you could do the same thing Into the boundary as well and then you Could also rotate this is you know what I like to do a lot of this stuff here Where now you can rotate so now you have A too high look you could rotate into a From here to cover three you could start In a four four look okay this is a four Four look actually should yeah four four Look here okay rather actually rather This be like this sorry this is just I Rather have the might gonna Sam in the Box here so this is just a four four Look and you could rotate to cover to Here okay by essentially moving moving Defenders into this area okay and Playing cover to so now you can play Cover to or you can play cover for by Rotating the defenders into different Areas this allows you start a four four Look rotate give a different look To the city actual defense of three Offensive players for the quarterback For the receivers to have a different Look okay another thing that you can Rotate into is obviously cover four and Then another cover thing that I like to Do which we call invert cover two I Might save this for next time as its own Thing but invert cover two essentially The free safeties and the strong Safeties exchange responsibilities so The corners are gonna have deep coverage

And the coverage responsibility for the Free safety and the strong safety are Going to be that flat to fade area and They could walk down and rotate or they Could play it right from where they are As well so one of the things we want Like to do here is we might just give a Cover for a play from right from where You are and just jump it read the number One receiver on the fly and and see what Happens there and have the corner read Number two essentially they're dropping Off and then everybody gets to their Responsibilities or you can you can Attack and blitz if you get pressure in This kind of inverts even better because Pressure off the edge like this six-man Pressure you're gonna be in a situation Where the quarterbacks have I'm a quick Decision he's not used to seeing Something like this so this is a good Way to in play invert cover to and give Yourself an opportunity to maybe steal Ball that's us a few ways to play robber Coverage and rotational coverages and We'll see you soon next time could you Sign it no
