DeShae Diggs: 2028 named NUC All NorthEast Prospect Showcase DB MVP !!!

DeShae Diggs, an eighth grader at Urban Promise Middle School in South Camden, New Jersey.  He recently attended NUC’s All NorthEast Elite Prospect Camp and earned himself DB MVP Honors.

The All NorthEast Elite Prospect Camp is attended by some of the Northeast’s top football playing talent from middle school through high school.  Players participate in NFL Combine like drills, agility work, individual positional skills, and one on one competition periods.  Overall, Diggs turned heads and is now being looked at as one of the area’s top players.

DeShae is no stranger to NUC events.  He took home MVP honors back in February at NUC’s Winter Showcase.  Here, he had another fantastic day dominating in all phases of the event.  Diggs ran an improved 40 yard dash, taking his time from a 4.94 to a 4.8 while also running a 4.73 shuttle and producing a broad jump of 8.3”.

In the competition phase, he was clearly ahead of other athletes covering guys all over the field.  Defensively he made some fantastic plays that really allowed himself to separate from the rest of the playing field.  We saw much improved skills in the competition phase where he won the majority of his one on one reps.

In terms of physical ability, his speed is one of his best attributes, using that skill DeShae was able to gain an advantage over opponents.  The 2028 DB utilized his athletic ability and footwork to jam offensive opponents at the line of scrimmage.  He really displayed his technical skills and overall ability to cover.  Diggs has excellent strength for a younger player and used that to muscle guys at both the line of scrimmage and within their routes.

It will be exciting to see what Diggs has in store for the next few years.  I expect him to continue to become an older, wiser and more mature athlete.  The class of 2028 has already established an excellent foundation not just physically, but by attending events like this, to really get his name on the radar.  His overall athleticism and ability to play multiple positions will allow him to get on the field more and more as he continues to grow.  I look forward to following this young man’s journey!!!!
