DeAndre Carter: Mater Dei High School Football New 5 Star Looks for More as a Senior
DeAndre Carter a Junior at Mater Dei High School, has recently landed on a list of football excellence. He earned a much deserving five-star rating for the 2024 class from NUC Sports, and is seen as a top prospect for college football.
Carter has always been a major contributor to his teams, whether its youth or high school, his work ethic and natural athletic ability shine through. He has proven himself to be a team leader and a reliable asset on the field. He can always be counted on to make a key block when needed.
DeAndre has been playing football since he was a young kid, and attributes much of his success to the hard work and dedication he put in while growing up. He started seriously training when he was in high school and started to gain recognition as he developed.
An easy 6.5′ tall and tipping the scales at 340 pounds, his physical stature commands a look. Carter is a natural athlete with quick feet and speed, making him a powerful presence anywhere on the line. Mainly being recruited as an Offensive Tackle, Guard may be his spot at the next level. His strength can be seen on every play. He is consistent from snap to snap and never takes plays off He has a very high football IQ which will help with whatever scheme his lands in. All of these attributes helped him earn his five-star rating from NUC Sports.
Carter is on the radar of almost every top college football program in the country. He currently has over 25 offers, with interest from all of the Power Five Conferences. The likes of the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC, and Pac 12 are all looking for his services. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future.
DeAndre and his teammates will also be apart of History this upcoming season at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. This will be the first time in 34 years that Mater Dei will have a new Head Coach at the helm. Frank McManus will replace legendary Bruce Rollinson on the sidelines and will look to avenge the only blemish on the 2022 season record in 2023!
Off the field, DeAndre is a leader both in the locker room and in the community. He mentors younger players and acts as a role model for aspiring football players. He stays involved in a number of community outreach programs, and continues to work hard to ensure a bright future for the communities he served.
