Right um uh so so what are some of the Things that you really you know you know Have to work on with your guys and and In Development so Um basically not a lot changes from Athlete to athlete from sport to sport As far as just the basis of building Building an athlete right building a Powerful explosive capable mover right a Resilient that's resistant to to injury As well those those standards for me Have kind of become pretty standard Across the board um and uh yeah I was I Was in private sector forever so so Because of Miami's you know history and You know be being mostly from down here Since I was about nine years old I Wouldn't have taken any other job I was I was pretty comfy in the uh in the Private sector uh but uh but this was Just an opportunity that just I couldn't Pass up you know you said the story of This program uh being able to be a part Of that and bringing it back to Prominence it's it's it's really luring But yeah as far as the training goes uh About a decade ago a few big Leaguers Kind of came to me and kind of like the Way I was doing things and you know you Know focus with with the track portion Of of the training uh you know very very Kind of like a sprinter's model towards Towards teaching how to sprint and those
Kind of factors uh the way we were doing You know the Olympic lifts and stuff Like that they were like okay I want you To do that for a baseball guy and I was Like all right let's let's do it you Know and then we jumped in on it and as We did it I started realizing I really Didn't have to change that much had to Add a little bit more rotational Force Production right and ability to stay to Rotate not lose any kind of mobility in The shoulder and elbow and that sort of Stuff but a lot of the stuff we do kind Of kind of adds to that anyways right as Far as at least a Mobility standpoint When you're doing you know snatches and Cleans the right way you're actually You're kind of improving that that Ability to get into these positions You're not you're not Reducing um any kind of Mobility right If anything you're strengthening a Mobility range which to me was really Alluring to adding those kinds of lists Into a baseball program and uh and I had Already worked with some quarterbacks That had seen a big jump in their Throwing ability just from doing that Sort of stuff so I was all right let's Just take it over to the to the next Level luckily these guys were all on Board with it you know they were about It and they had great results um yand Alonzo was one of our first guys he had
