Was a you know I went to L High School I Wasn't all state I wasn't all County all World I was in a bcsl national I just I Had heart so I went to M State I'll Never forget it I'm like with all these Guys who's all state who's this you know Derek was a freaking All State player Like I was second Team all bcsl but I Said yo you know what I'm gonna play um I busted my butt ended up starting as a Sophomore all the way through senior Year never missed a game um never Stopped I took yeah I took pride in that Man like I was like yo yeah I didn't Have all those accolades but I'm going To bust my butt and I the reason I'm Even talking about that is because I I Give that to Lindhurst like my coaches At Linhurst that that grit you know that That's what they taught us and it end Ultimately ended up pushing me to get Through college and then coming back to Home my hometown and getting his job um You would think you know he's a l kid it Was it was hard as hell to get this job Man I getting my teaching job was easier Than getting the football job I went Through three interviews like crazy Panels all this stuff to get the Football job because a lot of people Wanted that job uh there was some big Coaches Germaine Johnson um you know He's at Montclair now Germaine Johnson Put in for that job great coach uh Zach
Naso remember Zach crazy guy love Him also a great coach you know so there Was a lot of people going after that job And I'm telling you I didn't think I was Getting it I was like I'm not going to Get this job and uh thank God I did Because I couldn't be happy happier um I Love these kids I love this town I love The tradition I'm proud of this place uh And I I'll be here for life you know
