TJ Valerio: Toms River North School Football: 2025 QB takes home MVP honors at NUC’s Winterfest Prospect Showcase !!!
TJ Valerio, a 2025 QB at public powerhouse Toms River North High School in Toms River, New Jersey recently attended NUC’s Winterfest Prospect Showcase and turned in an excellent football performance. He made himself known among over 60 student athletes in attendance and really showcased his skills on a multitude of levels.
Valerio had a monster day, dominating the competition in attendance. The soon to be senior quarterback put on display his arm talent and strength, zipping passes to WRs in tight widows. At 6.0” 185 lbs, he utilizes his solid frame and footwork to add velocity on his throws, allowing him to fit footballs into tough windows.
TJ presented himself as a natural leader. He took control of his group and motivated other athletes in attendance. The 2025 prospect displayed great football IQ and knowledge, talking with coaches and other players about alignments, adjustments, with a high level of attention to detail. Playing for Toms River North who has won a NJ state Group 5 Championship the last two years.
In terms of physical ability, he had excellent footwork as a QB. He showcased great body posture allowing him to keep his body pointed downfield at his targets. Valerio possessed excellent eye discipline, making his reads or moving from target to target, he kept his eyes where they needed to be in order to deliver a catchable football. TJ also separated himself from other players coming in with a “winner” type of mindset and attitude.
Valerio brings that big time competitive edge and first class standard to whatever team is playing for. Toms River North School has been arguably the BEST public school in the state of NJ the past two seasons, TJ is a guy who will bring a high level standard that college coaches are looking for. His ability to understand X’s and O’s and lead his team will only continue to benefit him as he grows and matures. I look for this guy to be a big asset to whatever Program he chooses!!!
