The football story of Barry Sanders Barry Sanders is one of the greatest Players in professional football and one Of the most dominant running backs in NFL history he was born in Wichita Kansas in 1968 and played college Football at Oklahoma State where he set Numerous NCAA records and won the 1988 Heisman Trophy Sanders was drafted by The Detroit Lions in the 1989 NFL draft And went on to become one of the most Successful players in the history of the Franchise he developed an explosive Style of running that was rarely seen Before with an elusive ability to elude Tacklers and burst through tight holes In line for long gains Sanders rushed For more than 1 000 yards in each of his 10 NFL seasons the only player to have Done so and was selected for the Pro Bowl every year from 1989 to 1998. he Retired from the NFL with an astonishing 15 269 career rushing yards surpassed Only by Walter Payton at the time in 2004 Sanders was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame
