Navir Gandy: Monmouth Regional Football: top 2024 DB takes home MVP hardware at Boardwalk Beasts 7v7 tryout !!!

Navir Gandy, a Senior at Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls, New Jersey has recently been rewarded for his football performance. He earned MVP honors from NUC Sports and Boardwalk Beasts 7v7 Football club, at their first workout for the 2024 spring season.  He is now being mentioned as one of the area’s top prospects for college football.

Navir, a 2024 Prospect, has recently left Wall High School and enrolled at Monmouth Regional High School.  He has been playing football since he was a young kid, and credits much of his success to the hard work and time he put in while growing up.  After making his move to a new school he looks forward to his 2nd season as a Boardwalk Beast.

The 2024 prospect turned heads immediately with his ability to change direction and displayed tremendous athleticism during the work out, as participants went through a variety of agility drills.  He has excellent quickness with an above average burst in and out of his breaks.  The natural ability to change direction but also possess tremendous straight away speed allowing himself to create space.

The natural athleticism was easy to spot as he performed at the highest of levels on both sides of the ball.   Playing fast both as a WR as well as getting in and out of breaks as a DB.  He displayed an ability to basically line up at any position and Win. Whether it be on defense as a corner or nickel, but also as a WR in the slot, outside, or at RB catching passes out of the backfield, Gandy made it all look easy.

In terms of physical ability, Gandy’s strength separated himself from other prospects by creating havoc at the line of scrimmage.  WR’s were struggling to get a release off of his press and jam technique.  His quick feet and lateral movement allowed him to control the initial release of his opponents allowing him to win most reps.  He showed great speed on both intermediate and long routes. Additionally, his high football IQ allowed him to jump routes before WR’s heads were even turned.  The ability to know when and where to position his body on jump balls gave him an advantage and won each pass thrown his way.

Overall, Gandy stood out as a DB, but don’t sleep on him as a RB/WR as well.  He showed an ability to catch the ball from any position on offense.  He made catches in traffic, and showed great speed separated from defenders.  As a returning player to the Boardwalk Beasts, Year 2 looks to be even brighter than Year 1.  This guy should dominate competition and give opposing WR’s headaches all season !!!
