Matt Reed: Liverpool High School Football : 2025 named OL MVP at the NUC Winterfest Prospect Showcase !!!
Matt Reed, a member of the Liverpool High School football team in Liverpool, New York recently participated in an off-season showcase presented by NUC Sports in which he put his talents on display earning himself the OL MVP award.
Reed, a junior at the New York high school, had a fantastic day dominating his competition in both drill and competition periods. He displayed great strength and power throughout the entire session. The 2025 prospect showed off his athleticism during the agility portion of the day. He really showcased his ability to change direction and displayed great overall agility skills. Participants went through a variety of drills to display their overall agility ability as well as speed. He exhibited quickness and excellent lateral movement throughout the agility station period of the workout.
Matt immediately turned heads with fantastic footwork and technique in position specific drills. His footwork was smooth and his steps were fast and technically sound, with little head movement, all the while keeping great balance throughout each rep. In terms of physical ability, he has a quick first step, allowing him to fire off the ball. You could tell his football knowledge and IQ are above average in terms of overall understanding of the game itself.
Reed brought a leadership mentality to the game. His potential to grow both mentally and physically are extremely high. The one thing that separated him from others was his competitive nature. He showed a great desire and willingness to work. That is the single most important attribute that separates good from great. I look forward to seeing where this young man takes his game as he continues to mature and improve!
