James Spinney: Kennebunk High School Football : 2026 DL shows off Talent at NUC Winterfest Prospect Showcase !!!
James or Jim, a sophomore at Kennebunk High School in Kennebunk, Maine recently Made the trip south and attended an early off-season showcase presented by NUC Sports in which he put on display his talents earning himself a MVP award.
Spinney, a 6.1” 270 pound DL had a tremendous day in both drills and competition periods. He showed great power and handwork, along with tremendous get off. The 2026 product also showed his athleticism during the agility portion of the day. He had the ability to change direction all the while keeping his agility at a high level. Participants went through a variety of drills to display their overall agility ability as well as speed. He exhibited quickness and excellent footwork throughout the agility station period of the workout.
Jim immediately stood out with great footwork and technique in position specific drills. His feet were smooth and technically sound, with a great first step. The 2026 prospect was powerful and had tremendous hand placement. He displayed great field awareness and leverage while competing. In terms of physical ability, he used his power and strength to put him in the best spots. You could tell his Football knowledge and IQ is above average and he takes coaching. He has a great grasp of the game itself.
Spinney can use his growth both on and off the field to take him as far as he wants to go. He will mentally and physically mature, and has the body type to develop into a big time player. Jim is a worker, he’s going to grind and continue to perfect his craft. I see him easing into that leadership role where the others around him will buy in. He is a true competitor and will improve with every practice and game played. Skys the Limit!
