Faizon Brandon: Grimsley High School Football – Newest 5 Star QB makes a case to be the #1 player in the 2026 Class !!!
Faizon Brandon, a 2026 prospect at Grimsley High School in North Carolina, has recently been lauded for his football excellence. The sophomore recently earned a five-star rating from NUC Sports, and is seen as a top prospect for college football.
Brandon is a tremendous two-sport athlete playing both varsity football and basketball. He has been playing both sports since he was a young child, and attributes much of his success to the hard work and dedication he put in while growing up. Brandon started seriously training once he entered high school and has really started to gain recognition as his body continues to grow and mature.
Faizon has always been a major contributor to his team, but his work ethic and as previously mentioned natural athletic ability really began to shine through as he continues to mature. During this time, he proved himself to be a team leader and a reliable asset on the field. He is often the go to guy when the team is in need of a big play.
In terms of physical ability, Brandon is a 6.4” 196 pound, rare combination of both pocket-passer and dual threat. He has excellent footwork allowing him to use his legs and a solid base to help him throw with great accuracy. Additionally, his arm strength and overall pocket presence are top-notch, allowing him to throw a very catch-able ball. His football IQ from a QB perspective is surprisingly high for a guy that is young and still continuing to grow and mature. All of these attributes helped him earn his five-star rating from NUC Sports.
The 2026 prospect is now being recruited by some of the top college football programs in the country. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future. He has a slew of schools that would love to have him on their roster. Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Va Tech, Syracuse, Florida State, LSU, North Carolina, N.C. State, and Tennessee are just a few that have formal offers on the table.
As a freshman, Brandon was a backup at Grimsley. Sophomore year he was named the starter and threw for 191-277 for 3,026 yards and 36 TD’s! He also rushed for 528 yards and 9 TD’s, leading his team to a 13-1 record. Faizon also averaged over 10 pts and 7 rebounds for the basketball team.
Off the field, the 2026 QB is a leader both in the locker room and in the community. He mentors younger players and is a role model for aspiring student athletes. He continues to be involved in a number of community outreach programs, and works hard to ensure a bright future for the communities he serves.
The ceiling is extremely high for this talented QB. He is a game changer and play maker. Faizon is a rare case in which he checks multiple high level boxes, he also possesses the intangibles with leadership and locker room presence! I look to see this young man playing on Sundays !!!
