Cyrus McDonald: Edmond Sante Fe High School Football: 2026 DB named MVP at NUC North Texas Prospect Camp!!!

Cyrus McDonald, a rising Sophomore at Edmond Sante Fe High School recently attended the North Texas Prospect Camp presented by NUC Sports and walked away with some MVP hardware.  The Prospect showcase put on display some of Texas’s top football talent from middle school through high school.  Players participated in NFL Combine like drills, agility work, individual positional skills, and one on one competition periods.  Overall, McDonald turned heads and is now being looked at as one of the area’s top players.

McDonald, a 2026 prospect, attends Edmond Sante Fe High School.  He had a fantastic day dominating all phases of the event.  He ran solid times, clocking a 4.7 in the 40 and 4.48 shuttle, both the fastest of the day.  In the competition phase he played fast and physical.  At 5.7” 155 pounds, his physicality and footwork may be his best attributes.  As a DB he used his strength and power to press and jam opponents at the line of scrimmage throwing opponents off their routes and disrupting the timing of his opponents throws.  Cyrus displayed great feet and hand placement when it came to his strike.  The athleticism he displayed allowed him to mirror his WR’s and break on balls.  He used his football IQ to play the angles in coverage and drive on throws with very little wasted movement.

It will be exciting to see how McDonald continues to develop and mature on and off the field.  His ability to play multiple positions, in terms of DB allows him to see more reps and more plays which will benefit him in his upcoming season.
