Douglas Utu, a junior at Bishop Gorman High School in NV has recently been lauded for his football excellence. He recently earned a five-star rating from NUC Sports, and is seen as a top prospect for college football.
Utu attributes much of his success to the hard work and dedication he put in while growing up.He started seriously training when he entered high school and is now gaining recognition on not only a local but a national level as well.
He has always been a major contributor to his team, but his work ethic and natural size really began to shine through during his sophomore year! During this time, he proved himself to be a team leader and a reliable asset on the field. He was often the go-to player when his team was in need of a big play, usually running behind where Utu lines up. In terms of physical ability, he is a monster and a natural athlete at 6-5 270 pounds. Additionally, his first step gives him the ability to get on defenders toes and deliver that initial punch. His football IQ is incredibly high, couple that with his hand strength and you have a high level talent. All of these attributes helped him earn his five-star rating from NUC Sports.
Utu is now being recruited by some of the top college football programs in the country. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future. Georgia, Florida, Alabama, USC, Ohio State, Miami, Oklahoma, Michigan, UCLA, and Stanford are just a few of the more than 30 offers already inn place.
Douglas Utu and his high school really embrace the surrounding community. He himself is a mentor to younger players and a role model for aspiring football players. He is also involved in a number of community outreach programs, and he works hard to ensure a bright future for the communities he serves.
