Alex Staten, a 2027 at Ocean Township High School in Ocean, New Jersey was recently recognized by NUC Sports.  Alex was awarded a 3 Star Rating for the 2027 high school football prospect class.  Staten is no stranger to NUC Sports, he has been attending showcases and combines since he was in middle school and is a member of the Boardwalk Beasts 7v7 Club team.  

Staten, a 2027 Prospect, had a tremendous sophomore season, dominating his competition on both sides of the ball.  He is a natural athlete that can line up all over the field and make a difference.  He can play WR, both on the outside and from the slot and line up as a RB in the backfield.  Defensively, he is an excellent cover guy, who can handle opposing offensive weapons.  He possesses top notch foot work and can cover from both corner, nickel, and safety positions.

At 5.9” 160 lbs, he plays bigger than his current frame.  Alex has tremendous speed and agility, not only possessing breakaway ability but also that pure straight line track speed allowing him to run by defenders or use his excellent lateral movement to get open or to cover.

Staten showcased his ability to change direction and his excellent athleticism during the course of the entire season for Ocean Township High School in NJ.  He continuously showed a high level of quickness and tremendous lateral movement.  The sheer innate skill and smoothness in his ability to change direction on a dime had defensive coordinators game planning around him for each game.

Staten immediately makes it known that he is there to prove he belongs in the conversation as a top tier player in NJ.  His releases and speed off the line put him in a different category.   Alex has excellent body control and strong hands catching passes. Staten plays with an attack on mentality, always attacking the football whether on Offense or Defense.

In terms of physical ability, speed may be his best attribute.  He hands down has separated himself from other players coming in with a WIN mindset.  He uses his shiftiness to keep hands off of him at the line of scrimmage, displaying he can win now and get into his route.  Staten is a gamebreaker and BIG PLAY guy, constantly making those WOW plays and can change a game every time he touches the football.

NUC’s newest 3 Star will bring a big time competitive edge to whatever college he attends.  His ability to help and play multiple positions gives him the opportunity to see more reps and more plays.  I look for this guy to only continue to grow and improve his game as he matures and gets older !!!
