The 6 foot 1’ 170 pounder plays with a nasty streak. Caswell is explosive and finishes every tackle with power. He has great ability to see the field. Projected as a safety in college, he has the rare ability to make plays sideline to sideline. Additionally his athleticism is undeniable and his quick feet allow him to track and play the ball, showing excellent ball skills. He has excellent quick twitch reactions and will be a huge bonus to whatever college program lands him.
In terms of physical ability, Malik is a natural athlete with great speed. He averaged over 6 tackles a game along with 3 Ints during the 2022 season, helping his team to reach the Georgia State High School Football Playoffs. All of these attributes helped him earn his four-star rating from NUC Sports.
The hard hitting safety is currently on the rise and starting to see some of the top college football programs in the country showing interest. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future. He currently holds a Marshall offer, but a recent unofficial visit to Clemson could affect his entire approach, not to mention a little inhouse work as one of Caswell’s former teammates is currently attending Clemson.
Off the field, Malik is a hard worker constantly striving to get better. The junior works with outreach programs in his area to help the youth. He has been a part of a program that goes into the surrounding elementary schools and reads to the younger students. Leadership comes naturally, he is a great example for the younger players.
In reality, this hard hitting safety from Georgia plays the game in what a lot would call the old school way. Malik flies around and hits! The throwback safety reminds us of the late Sean Taylor with his athleticism constantly on display, high praise for sure to be mentioned alongside that name. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out!
