Jordan Ross – Vestavia Hill High School, Alabama – this Athletic Outside Linebacker is out to prove the HYPE is real !!!

Jordan Ross just finished his Junior Season at Vestavia Hill High School  in Birmingham, Alabama and has recently been lauded for his football excellence. Ross is one of the top prospects in the 2024 class.  He has tremendous athleticism enabling him to line up on the edge with his hand on the ground or in the middle in a traditional linebacker role.  The raw talent and upside is through the roof.  Dylan has recently earned a five-star rating from NUC Sports, and is seen as a top guy across the nation.

The 6.4 ‘ 220 pounder has a tremendous first step off the ball.  He’s been clocked at a 4.6 in the 40 with a 35 inch vertical.  The explosiveness he possesses with his initial step allows him to avoid his opponent’s initial punch and get to the ball carrier.  Ross plays the game with a relentless motor and goes from whistle to whistle. Projected to be an outside linebacker in college he has a knack for chasing down offensive players.  His pursuit is next level and runs through tackles on contact! 

The top 2024 recruit attributes much of his success to the hard work and dedication he put in while growing up.  This multi-sport guy also competes on his high school basketball team.  In a recent interview Ross has stated “I give it my all on every play, I want to be the best!”  Ross was named All-State, All-Region, and All-Metro for the 2022 season.  He accounted for 16 tackles for loss along with 2 defensive TD’s, but the stats do zero justice to the impact he makes on every snap.  Offensive coordinators need to know where he is lining up at all times.  

The top 2024 recruit has always been a major contributor to his team, but his work ethic and natural athletic ability really began to surface as he developed and evolved as a player on and off the field.  The potential is there, his frame will allow whatever school he chooses to put weight on.  He has the ability to be a major asset and a reliable teammate not only during games but in the locker room as well. “He is a guy that jumps off the tape!” stated Vestavia Head Coach Buddy Anderson.  All of these attributes helped him earn his five-star rating from NUC Sports.

Ross has narrowed his recruiting to a top 8 which has some of the top college football programs in the country. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future.  Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Oregon, Alabama, Texas, USC, and LSU all are in the picture as summer will give us an even better picture of where this guy might end up.

The future looks extremely bright for this 2024 top prospect.  The upside and potential to perfect his craft, get bigger, learn, and mature both on and off the field will all be key components to seeing where the ceiling is for this guy.  The truth is, Jordan Ross is going to be a force for whatever College Football Team he chooses.
