Elijah Newby – Cheshire Academy, Connecticut – Big Time LB has earned an NUC 5 Star Rating for the 2024 Class  !!!

Elijah Newby just finished his Junior Season at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut and has recently been lauded for his football excellence. Newby is a sleeper in the 2024 class.  He is extremely athletic for his size and can run sideline to sideline.  Elijah is also a multi-sport athlete participating on his varsity track team, where he has produced times of 10.6 in the 100 meter dash, a 6.8 high jump, and a 18.35 Long Jump.  He has recently earned a five-star rating from NUC Sports, and is seen as a top prospect for college football.

Elijah attributes much of his success to the hard work and dedication he put in while growing up.  He started seriously training when he entered high school.  The training has definitely paid off, as the big time athlete is coming off a big 2022 season.  He played both sides of the football but will most likely play OLB at the next level. 

The top 2024 recruit has always been a major contributor to his team, but his work ethic and natural athletic ability really began to surface as he developed and evolved as a player on and off the field.  During this time, he proved himself a major asset and a reliable teammate not only during games but in the locker room as well. He has great speed and at 6-3’ 205 pound specimen that delivers a major burst upon contact.  He has tremendous athleticism which gives him the advantage over most opponents.  He can run as well as cover.  

In terms of physical ability, Newby plays to his size and it shows.  He has excellent feet and a great first step, allowing him to explode through defenders and finish tackles. Additionally, he is powerful and explosive, and a tackling machine. All of these attributes helped him earn his five-star rating from NUC Sports.

Elijah is coming from a well respected program and is now being recruited by some of the top college football programs in the country. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future.  Penn State, Stanford, USC, South Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Louisville, Nebraska, Pitt, and Wisconsin have all extended offers! 

If a program is looking for a toner setter this guy is it.  The power and explosiveness is already next level and will only get better when he gets into a college weight program.  His ability to run well at his size along with his athleticism will allow him the opportunity to play special teams which means he will play early.  I look for this guy to be on the field sooner than later!
