Korey Duff Jr. or KJ is a junior at St. Anthony’s High School in Melville, NY, has recently been lauded for his football excellence. The monster TE recently earned a four-star rating from NUC Sports, and is seen as a top prospect for college football.
The 6 foot 5’ 200 pounder has seen his game continue to develop from year to year. KJ has always been a large part of every team he has been on. Whether it’s lining up attached as a true TE or detached as a WR, his presence gives defensive coaches nightmares. Duff is a matchup problem, his ability to run the way he does with that frame, he’s faster than most Linebackers and athletic enough to create separation from defensive backs. The work ethic and natural athletic ability can be seen along with his many other attributes.
During the 2022 season, he proved himself to be one of the area’s best players, with over 40 catches for just short of 1,000 yards and 12 TDs. Duff took home All-League, All Long Island as well as All-State making him a Top Player in NY. He was often the go-to player when his team was in need of a big play. He also proved to his teammates he could be counted on when needed and led them to an 11-1 record.
In terms of physical ability, KJ is a natural athlete, he also starts on the school’s varsity basketball team and runs track. He has above average speed for a guy his size with quick feet that make him an impactful presence on offense. Additionally the TE can be used in an array of positions. He can split out and use his 6.5’ frame to out jump most DB’s, or be attached in a traditional TE role which forces a Linebacker to “attempt” to cover him. The All-State TE brings with him a certain tenacity as well, always looking to block downfield, a trait college coaches love. All of these attributes helped him earn his four-star rating from NUC Sports.
The 3.7 GPA holder is currently being recruited by some of the top college football programs in the country. The class of 2024 Tight End plays for Raw 7 on 7 club in which his athleticism can be seen game in and game out. The group of top talent recently took home The Battle of New Orleans title. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future.
West Virginia, Rutgers, Texas A&M, Pitt, Maryland, Georgia Tech, and Tulane all have offers on the table. It will be interesting to see what comes after the spring cycle.
Off the field, Duff is a hard working humble kid. He constantly strives to be the best and won’t stop until he gets what he’s looking for. A sponge, he is constantly looking to better himself on and off the field. Leadership comes naturally, Korey sets the tone both on the field and in the locker room as well, constantly setting a good example for the younger guys.
